NOVEMBER .

Well, that week disappeared so quick.

We also had lots of storms and rain and two nice days of sunshine.

I have not had time to go to the garden centre this week so I have no Christmas display photos to show you so I will be hoping to go next week.

Saturday night we went to fireworks display and my hubby was asked to judge the best Guy.

What is a Guy you ask, well on the 5th of November 1605 Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the House of Lords and failed.

So, every year we celebrate with fireworks and the children make Guys, for fun.

There were so many people there and it was such a fun evening.

There were loads of fireworks.

We were watching with a nice hot cup of coffee in our hands.

It was a fun night, and all the children loved it.

Well, my friends I have been stitching but can't show you yet, so I will leave you with some Autumn displays.

On my dresser in the craft room.

  1. Hi June: Nice fall displays, I am looking forward to seeing your Holiday displays.
I love fireworks, when we have them here in our little town we can watch from our living room and enjoy without bugs biting in July.

  6. We've had a mixture of cold & warm here, with some bad storms thrown in.
One day there were chunks of ice coming down, not hail, but chunks!
Your Fall stitching is all so very pretty.

  8. Dear June, what a wonderful display of you autumn stitchings.
We also had strong wind a few days ago and the power went out. Luckily it was late in the evening and time for bed anyway.
Are the "Cloth Guys" a recent thing? I don't remember those from my days in England. But maybe in London proper they didn't have them because there weren't any children. Looks like fun!

  16. Wonderful fireworks and great guys too. I agree with Clare, haven’t seen one for years.
Have you heard the theory that Guy Fawkes was set up to make the people feel more sympathetic towards the King who was pretty unpopular? His advisors decided a “foiled plot” to kill him would make people feel sorry for him and turn them against the Catholics.
Gorgeous Autumnal stitching display this month.
    Serendipitous Jo
